Even if the Cerro is not among the most famous zones, it features several choices of vacation rental and house for sale, in many strategic places, or luxury neighborhoods such as the new, highly residential, Casino Deportivo with excellent choices of houses.
General Description of the Cerro Municipality
The Cerro is a municipality which is not so centric as the Old Havana, Havana Central or The Vedado, but at the same time, it's not so peripherical because its geographic position make it near to the Havana Center, the Vedado and Via Blanca, the direct route to the beaches. And, sure, it's much more centric than Marianao, 10 de Octubre or even the Playa municipality.
Aside from its nearness with other important municipalities, the Cerro also has two places of interest, the Latin American Stadium, official seat of baseball Havana team and the Ciudad Deportiva (sportive city), which is the biggest sportive center of Havana.
The Cerro municipality was built at the beginning of the IXX Century and it was part of the ancient Havana municipality. Later, on 1976, with the new political and administrative division, it became an independent municipality and it is officially named Cerro, without the article "El".
In this municipality there are several private homes available either for rent and for sale. The advantage is that, still being located in a quite centric place, the prices are less expensive either for the rent and for the sale, counting as well the choices available from the new and luxury Casino Deportivo neighborhood.
