General Description of Cienfuegos

Cienfuegos is one of the central provinces of Cuba and is located in the south of the island, the city with the same name, which is also the capital, has been declared by the UNESCO as world heritage.

The province itself is located between Matanzas (west), Villa Clara (north) and Sancti Spíritus (east). It consists in eight municipalities, including the capital, which is one of the most ancient cities of the country, since the Spanish colonization.

Cienfuegos is one of the most economically active provinces of the country, it has the third bigger harbour of Cuba and the bigger sugar can harvest.

The Cienfuegos city is worth visiting, because of its Malecon, the Jagua's Castle, its abandoned Nuclear Central, its electrical high tension towers and its enormous sugar plantations. Furthermore, in the province it also worth visiting the Punta Brava village, a small town built around a small isthmus, really charming and an authentic jewel.

And, as in many other places of Cuba, you can also find many choices of vacation rentals and, possibly, sales.
